Builders on the Northern Beaches

We are based on Dalley Street, Queenscliff. Northern Beaches blocks are rarely flat and rarely simple, and the design has to answer that before it is worth pricing.

Building in Northern Beaches

Slope, sandstone, salt air, overland flow and a council that reads the height plane closely. We design for the constraint rather than discovering it at excavation. That is the practical benefit of one team: the person working out whether the addition fits inside the height plane is the person who will have to build it.

We have worked at Collaroy and Narrabeen, and the first review on this page is from a Narrabeen client.

How we work
What to plan for

Four things that shape a Northern Beaches project

01

Three sets of rules

Northern Beaches Council still assesses DAs under the former Manly, Warringah or Pittwater plans, depending on the address. A single new plan is expected to start in 2027.

02

Coastal exposure

Marine-grade fixings and coastal-rated products where the salt reaches.

03

Bushfire and flood

Bushland edges carry bushfire requirements and lagoon catchments carry flood controls. Both change the approval route.

04

Slope and rock

Excavation, retaining and drainage are priced up front, not found at the dig.

Why Amity

Four things you get in writing.

01

A flexible pricing structure

A complete itemised price before the job starts, so you can see what each part of the job costs before you commit to any of it, and a pricing structure that suits you.

02

One site supervisor who is on your job

Not running six others. The person who answers your call was on site that morning.

03

A published programme and a weekly meeting

You always know where the project is up to, and what is happening next week.

04

A defects walk, warranties, manuals and a twelve month check

Handover is a process with a date on it, not the day the last trade drives away.

“Jared has finished refreshing my fifty year old unit at Narrabeen. His communication was top notch through the entire process. He made it very clear what I needed to do on my end as the customer and he performed very high quality work every step of the way. Couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.”

“I have had the best experience renovating and adding to a property with a team of very professional, skilful, communicative and courteous tradies led by Jared, the builder, who has been a pleasure to work with and who is a great people person and manager. … This organisation provides all the detailed steps needed from beginning, throughout the project and including completion. As the owner I have felt welcomed and involved and a part of the team all through the project. As some decisions needed to be made along the way, we discussed options and the outcomes have very much proven to be successful and the correct decisions. … Communication and openness have been fostered by the leadership team of Jared and Angus (foreman), and appreciated by everyone involved including me. I very highly recommend this leadership and team — they will not disappoint.”
